You Know You’re a Parent When…

How do you know you’re a parent? Like a real parent? Are you doing this parent thing right?  Here are some easy ways to tell if you are, in fact, a parent.

You Know You’re a Parent When…

  1. While you used to have a favorite club or bar, now you have a favorite restaurant, and its Applebees.
  2. When you now go to bed at the same time you used to leave to go out for the night, you know you’re a parent.

  4. It takes you an hour to get out of the house to go some place. Only 3 minutes of that includes getting yourself dressed and ready.

  11. You have actually said the words “Knock it off, or I will turn this car around” and meant them.

  1. This was great. My children, are all grown up now, but I still sing “Wonder Pets” and my youngest is 15. The best part of knowing you are a parent is when you come home from a long day away from you child and all they want is your attention. Most people push their child away, but honestly, it’s great knowing someone missed you that much and wants to show you everything they did that day. They don’t care what else may have went on with you. You are all that matters and you are that loved!!!! Cute post Lisa, Love it!

  2. This brought back so many memories and made me laugh out loud, but the list just keeps changing as they get older and top of ours now is “Sitting outside a strange house at 1 am and texting that Mum’s taxi has arrived!” – I have shared the link on my reg PainPals feature Monday Magic – Inspiring Blogs for You!
